A night out in Barcelona...

There are many beautiful things to see in Barcelona... One can wander the streets looking for Antonio Gaudi's wonders, visit the many museums the city has to offer, or go to the beach and enjoy the warm Spanish sunshine on the Costa Brava... I personally like to spend my day shopping in Passeig de Gracia or Las Ramblas.

Barcelona is also a reference worldwide for its nightlife. For these party animals lucky enough to be in Barcelona, here are a few suggestions to spend a fun night in the greatest city in Spain!

Av Gaudi.jpg

Start with dinner at la Piazzenza, on Avenida Gaudi in the wonderful district of Eixample.

While the whole district is fairly animated, Avenida Gaudi is a charming pedestrian avenue - that's right, avenue, which makes for huge terraces in the sun. For fewer than 20 Euros you will enjoy the warm Spanish weather at the foot of the Sagrada Familia, with a lovely dinner and a glass of crisp white wine - or tapas and sangria! What better way to end the day... and start the night?

Next stop: la Chupiteria! Head towards the beach to the greatest collection of chupitos you will find in Barcelona. In this little bar, barely noticeable from the outside, you will find a 300 shooters' menu, each with a funny name, and no description... Dare if you will, every shooter is a surprise - for 2€ apiece! A piece of advice: buy a Monica Levinski to one of your friends... and don't forget the camera! As for those who are not so adventurous, the bar also offers classic cocktails (Sex on the Beach, Tequila Sunrise) in jars of 1 to 2 liters, which you can enjoy on the terrace overlooking the port - there are worst ways to spend an evening in Barcelona.

Port Olympic.jpg

It is time to go dancing in Barcelona, and there is no better way to do so than on Barcelona Port Olimpic. Located between la Ciutadella and Barceloneta, this is a part of town meant only to party. You will find the entire coast of the Barcelona beach lined with dancing bars with free entrances, as well as high class night clubs, where they look you up from top to bottom before letting you in, but you get to dance on the Barcelona sand... Opium Mar for example is one of the most VIP clubs in Barcelona, and also one of the most appreciated. Put on your nice shoes and dance to the latest tubes, until you see the sun rising over the Mediterranean, from the balcony of Opium Mar, one last cocktail in your hand and before heading back home to sleep a few hours to get ready for a another day of beach and shopping!

I love my life.
