The specialty of Feria de Abril is that it is an event that gathers all sort of organizations-public and private. These organizations set up little "caseta" for themselves. Caseta means little houses, these are temporary marquee tents especially set up for the fair. Every year around sixty to seventy tents are set up and each one is buzzing with different activities. Competitions are also held for the best stalls and pavilions. So the organizers of the stalls work hard to arrange beautiful stalls and tents.
The fair also has delicious food, games and a throng of people all joining energetically in the traditional dance called "Sevillanas."It is flamenco-style dancing that every Spaniard is familiar with. Since everybody joins in the dance without a care, the atmosphere is filled with echoing laughter and you see bright smiles on everybody's faces. To add to the festivity of the folk dance, many of the dancers even wear traditional costumes. This adds more color to the fair.
The men are attired in "traje de corto" which consists of a small jacket, tight trousers and shining black boots, while the ladies are attired in "trajes de flamenco". It is a flamenco style dress that swirls in colors when the ladies dance. The music is played by exclusive bands who know how to liven the atmosphere with lively music. The locals serve famous Spanish cuisine like tapas, churros and gazpacho and drinks like jerez sherry or manzanilla wine to quench one's thirst from all the exciting activities.
