Antiquaris Exhibition in Barcelona
Everybody knows that over the years Spain has worked very hard to maintain and preserve its cultural and historical aspects. The country has a wealth of history thanks to the different civilizations that occupied Spain at some point in time.
To showcase and promote its history and art, Barcelona holds many cultural related events. One such event is the Antiquaris Exhibition - an annual event in Barcelona, conducted to showcase Spain's best art work. The event has been a huge success every year and this year no less is expected. The Antiquaris Exhibition event will be held in the well known Fira de Barcelona venue in Montjuic, Plaza España, where most of the congresses and fairs of the city take place.
Last year more than 15,000 art works were displayed in the exhibition. It not only attracts local art lovers but also owners and directors of art galleries and antique collectors from all over the world. Last year alone around 25,000 visitors visited the influential exhibition.
Antiquaris Barcelona exhibits an array of art including historic and contemporary art. Last year some of the big names in the exhibition whose work were exhibited are Picasso, Sorrolla, Augueste Rodin, Barcelo Miro Plensa, Tapies and many more. Last year, the famous contemporary artist Gino Rubert's work was also exclusively exhibited in the art gallery. Another advantage of visiting the exhibition is that you get to see archeological wonders and items from different locations like Rome, Greece, India and other Asian countries.
You will see bibliographic treasures, Romanesque and Gothic carvings as well as furniture from different times. Colorful masks from Africa are also displayed to showcase the unique culture of Africa. Exquisite jewelry from different eras are also exhibited that female visitors are bound to be allured by.
The exhibition is planned with great care and security because it contains historical and expensive art work. This year the exhibition will begin on March 24th till April 1st. It will be held in Hall 8 in Fira de Barcelona, right near Plaza España. For more information you can visit the event's Antiquaris Barcelona site.
This year the 36th edition of the exhibition will take place, inviting people to not only view extraordinary art work but local names that have brought fame to Spain.
