Picasso Museum
You want to see some art and culture during you holidays in Barcelona? Then I really recommend you to go to the Picasso museum which is the most popular museum of the town. It is also the most visited one. So you will find definitely a cheap Barcelona hotel in the neighborhood and then the museum is within walking distance as well as the most other important things of the city. So additionally you will discover yet unknown places, cafés and restaurants.
The main focus of the museum is the young years of the painter and the development of art. So there is chronological order for the more than 3800 works. Every period of his life is described and you will find the corresponding pictures to each of them. Pablo Picasso was born on the 25th October 1881 in Malaga but already five years later he moved to Barcelona where he also had his first exhibition. Even if he moved to Paris he had never forgot about Barcelona and therefore he gave a lot of his art to the museum by himself. 
But not only the art is worth to see, also the building itself. It consists of 5 town buildings from the 13th - 15th century. Here you can linger across the courtyard and feeling back in time.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday and the entrance fee is about 9 €-
But if you are in the city on a first Sunday of the month, you can go in for free.
