Las Ramblas in Barcelona

One of the most famous places of Barcelona is the main street which goes from the street Diagonal down towards the sea. Do you know of which street exactly I am talking about? Right - Las Ramblas!
When I was in Barcelona some months ago, I wasn't aware what exactly what was so special about this street until I walked along it one day. I was really impressed by the numerous different kinds of bars, restaurants, theatres, shops etc. which are placed on the 1.2 km long Las Ramblas and which are opened from Monday to Sunday.
It's such a popular street and crowded during day and night by people from all around the world. Besides, Las Ramblas is a good example in order to proof that Barcelona is a city which never sleeps. Really, this is no joke!

Another typical characteristic of Las Ramblas are the several polymorphic human statues. You will recognize, that whenever you walk on Las Ramblas, you will find different ones. Their ideas are just admirable: Elfs, roboters, monkeys, aliens, trees are just few of the many statues that you might could expect when walking along Las Ramblas which is always full of events.
Besides the human statues, you will also see artists, magicians, stunning acrobats or dancing groups etc.
When arriving at the bottom of the street (what could take you some time if you like watching every single actor) just in front of the sea, a statue of Christoph Columbus who is pointing with his finger to America will expect you.
