Barcelona on wheels

disabled sign.jpg Barcelona is generally easily amenable for wheelchair-users. One can find almost everywhere ramps and the most public buildings and facilities (Museums, Restaurants etc.) are accessible with wheelchairs. In case you are travelling to Barcelona by car, you can find a wheel-chair friendly Barcelona parking garage at the end of Las Ramblas where you can park your car without any problems (incl. help of a friendly assistant).
As not all metro stations possess an elevator, I suggest you to inform yourself about it beforehand. On the TMB webpage, you can find a list of all Barcelona metro stations which do have an elevator.
In contrast to the metro, almost all Barcelona busses provide a ramp and usually people are always helpful if you still have problems to board onto the bus. Furthermore, there are special handicapped accessible Taxis ("Taxi Amic") which you can reach via the following telephone number: 934 208 088.
If you are en-route in Barcelona, I recommend you to use the restrooms in Museums or other public facilities, as they are usually - as mentioned before - handicapped friendly.
Unfortunately, the sights Park Güell by Antoni Gaudi and the monastery Montserrat are not very easy accessible with a wheel-chair. Therefore, when visiting them its recommendable to have a strong person around to push you up the steep slope.

In case you haven't found a wheelchair-friendly Barcelona holiday accommodation yet, I would like to propose you the following Barcelona Hotel and Barcelona apartment, which perfectly match your special requirements:

Hotel Ciutat de Barcelona.jpg The handicapped-friendly Barcelona hotel "Ciutat de Barcelona" is a very new hotel which was built in 2006. Thanks to its central location, in the heart of the wonderful Barrio Gotico (Gothic district), you can smoothly access many important Barcelona sights, such as Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, Passeo de Gracia, the Barcelona harbor as well as the Gothic district itself and many more.
The modern-equipped hotel-rooms of this 3-star hotel are very generous and dispose of a handicapped-friendly bathroom and all further comfort you may be looking for.

Codols Colon Ferienwohnung WZ.jpg If you rather esteem for more privacy during your Barcelona holidays, you could alternative settle for a suitable apartment in Barcelona. The handicapped-friendly Barcelona apartment "Codols Colon Group Apartment" for up to 5 persons, is exactly what you are looking for if you want to stay in a central, well equipped and above all, in a handicapped-accessible Barcelona accommodation.
