The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família ("La Sagrada Familia") is Gaudis's still incomplete creation which is situated in Barcelona's district "Eixample". The church is under construction for more than 100 years (since 1882) and is expected to be completed in the year 2026.
The Sagrada Familia is considered as the master-piece work of the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi (1852 - 1962) and is the number-one attraction of Barcelona with thousands of visitors from all around the world every day.
The church meant everything for Gaudi and he obviously lived for this object in order to become perfect. Unfortunately, the work undertaken on Sagrada Familia doesn't follow exactly the plans of Gaudi, as the plans were destroyed during the war.
The Sagrada Familia is nowadays adapted to the modern and proper style of the artists who are working on it.
Some of Barcelona's habitants are of the opinion that, "once the Sagrada Familia is finally completed, it will for sure collapse!" - We will see...
