La Rambla - Street Artists and Statues coming to Life

devil.jpgA mile long and during the day and on weekend nights it is packed. The Rambla in Barcelona. It used to be said that every true Barcelona citizen walks down or up La Rambla once a day. Thus, all tourists are good citizens too, since they usually walk up and down La Rambla more than twice a day. In any case, what is very particular about la Rambla is its street artists. My fav' sits close to the Columbus Statue on the left side of the end of La Rambla playing the accordeon and his little dog next to him. But also the real-people statues of La Ramblas are becoming more and more creative every day. Only a few days ago I saw a huge fairy and a devil coming out of a box. But describing is just half the fun. Come see for yourself and be a good Barcelona citizen. You might also want to rent your own apartment while you are being a good citizen. Barcelona Point offers a wide variety of Barcelona apartments in the centre, but also quiet Barcelona apartments, further away from the La Rambla, but still very well connected.

Cruising to Barcelona

port bcn.jpgYes! Not only can you access the city via car, train and by foot. You can also get to Barcelona by boat or cruise ship, respectively. Barcelona has become one of the favorite starting and end points of numerous cruises through the Mediterranean Sea. Cruise offers for the Mediterranean Sea range from short seven-day trips to months out on Sea. Depending on which countries and cities you would like to visit, you can choose the ideal cruise itinerary for you.

Choosing Barcelona as a starting point has several advantages. First, it is easily accessible since it has two airports - one where all major airlines fly into, the other for low-budget airlines. Second, it is the ideal starting point for cruises along the most beautiful Spanish coasts, but also for cruises to the East, along the French and Italian coasts. Third, you get to enjoy the first days in Barcelona before going aboard by discovering the most interesting tourist attractions, relaxing at the beach or one of the many parks and taste the delicious seafood you find in every restaurant along the beach. Staying in an apartment in Barcelona allows you to be more flexible and enjoy Barcelona more authentically than any other way. Moreover, you can decide for yourself whether you want to stay in a quiet beach apartment in Barceloneta or with your friends in a luxurious apartment in Villa Olympica, or even right in the center of the nightlife in an apartment in El Raval.

Whichever you choose to do, Barcelona will most certainly be the perfect starting point for your Mediterranean Cruise!

Barcelona's Manic Monday

Barcelona.jpgWho likes to work on Mondays? I guess I am not the only one who would like to start the week on Tuesday. Every once in a while there is a way out of it. Why not go to work on Friday and then spend a long weekend (including Monday) in Barcelona? There are quite a few reasons to do so. First, the flight to Barcelona is less costly if you fly back home on Monday. Second, the tourists are gone by Monday and you have the city to yourself. Third, you can visit all the sights you want as, unlike in other European cities, many tourist attractions do not close their doors on Monday. Also, those who love to shop have a whole day of empty shopping streets to themselves, as everyone else has to work. Sounds great, doesn't it? Moreover, Barcelona Point is the local accommodation expert and offers a large variety of Barcelona apartments and Barcelona hotels in this beautiful city. Perfect for a weekend away from home!
