The Poble Espanyol

Another legacy of the 1929 exhibition, this time an enclosed area showing examples of traditional architecture from every region in spain. A castilian square leads to an andalucian church, then on the village houses from Aragon and so on. There are numerous bars and restaurants and 60 plus shops. Many are the workshops in which craftspeople make and sell Spanish folk artefacts, such as ceramics, embroidery, fans, metalwork and candles.
Outside, streets performers recreate bits of catalan and spanish folklore. The poble is unmistakably aimed at tourists, but it has been working to raise its cultural profile. The Poble Espanyol is located near the Plaza de Espanya, a very well communicated area.
If you intend to spend some days in the city, there are many possibilities of Barcelona accommodation close to Plaza de Espanya, and the access to the center is very easy by bus, metro or taxi. Many rental agencies offer you the possibility to rent a Barcelona apartment ;from an economic apartment in Barcelona to group apartments in Barcelona, you have a wide choice. But Barcelona hotels are also very numerous.

The fashion hotspots in Barcelona

The Born is dynamic, but its yuppification in the last few years is reflected in mercilessly hip boutiques and escalating prices. On c/rec its nerve centre, established designers sit alongside shops.
The Barri Gotic features local legends like custo, young designers such as Daniela Yavich, funky boutiques and high-street players. C/avinyo makes a good starting point whatever your wallet's attributes, with inexpensive street fashion by Produit national brut.
Across the fashion vacuum of la Rambla lies the Raval, where gritty meets trandy and bohemian chic rules. It's home to a glut of second-hands outlets on C/rieira baixa, but is also a hotbed for innovative fashion.
Serious catalan money does not muddy its designer pumps in the downtown waters. The Eixample shopping map has two well-traipsed arteries: Rambla de Catalunya boasts lingerie shops, chains and supmarkets but Passeig de Gracia is where Spanish big guns such as Antonio Miro, Adolfo Dominguez and purification Garcia settle, along with countless international luminaries.
Gracia's leafy streets, café terraces and alternative boutiques make for a relaxed and enjoyable retail outing; C/Verdi is where you find the action.

All those districts are very central and well located. If you are looking for accommodation in Barcelona, many online booking agencies offer Barcelona apartments in those districts. The districts of El Born, Barri Gotic, and El Raval are the old part of Barcelona, near the Beach. The district of Gracia is up the avenue of Diagonal.
Whether you come with friends or with family, there is a wide choice of Barcelona accommodation, Barcelona apartments or Barcelona hotels, you choose!

Dutch in Barcelona

Europe's most exciting team is again at full tilt thanks to a revival secretly masterminded by the man responsible for the two most legendary sides in Barça's history: Johan Cruyff. The mercurial dutchman, in any fan's list of all-time best players, never won a World cup but his move to Barcelona changed the Catalan club forever bringing it victory from the ashes of the franco dictatorship when Real Madrid was a political favourite. FC Barcelona is unique. Formed of 100.000 members, it is the biggest football club in the world. These members elect the club president, who is then assured of considerable political influence in booming Catalonia.
Barcelona which is the capital of Catalonia is a cosmopolit city and is an emblematic city concerning the architecture thanks to the works of architects Antoni Gaudí and Luis Doménech i Montaner.
Barcelona has been declared world heritage sites by UNESCO. The culture in Barcelona is very strong, during the whole year there are many festivals, processions, something is always going on in Barcelona: exhibitions, concerts, the nightllife is very intensive, thanks to all the students who decided to come to Barcelona to study.

If you intend to spend some days in this beautiful city, you have the choice among many Barcelona hotels, from different categories, or you decide to rent a Barcelona apartment. From Barcelona group apartments to holiday apartments, you have a lot of choice! Make your life easier and enjoy Barcelona for a few days!

La Rambla de Catalunya

The pedestrianised section of Rambla de Catalunya, streching from Gran via to Diagonal, is in effect a continuation of la Rambla, but without a human statue in sight and with several good spots in which to enjoy an alfresco drink or tapa. Sheltered by pretty lime trees and lined by high priced shops, this is where Barcelona's bourgoisie have long come to stroll, see and be seen; though crossed by nine busy roads, it's the most pleasant way to walk from the old city city to Gracia. While the buildings can't compete with the modernista architecture of Passeig de Gracia, there's plenty to admire: check out Casas Juncadella and Fargas, by the prolific enric sagnier and Puig i Cadafalch's casa Serra. Make sure you catch the bronze statues by Josep Granyer that top and tail the Rambla: a thinking man's bull at the bottom and a cheeky-looking giraffe at the top.

The Eixample district is called the Quadrat d'Or of Barcelona. If you would like to spend some days in Barcelona and enjoy the spiritual centre of bourgeois Barcelona, check the online booking agencies which offer Barcelona apartments, Barcelona accommodation in the district of Eixample, and even located in Passeig de Gracia. You also have the choice among many Barcelona Hotels !
